Ogletree Deakins Boosts Employment and Benefits Capabilities in Indiana

Ogletree Deakins, one of the largest labor and employment law firms representing management, is pleased to announce that Scott Preston and Tiffany Hofmeister have joined the firm’s Indianapolis office as shareholder and of counsel respectively. Preston joins the firm from Jackson Lewis, where he was a principal and the Indianapolis office litigation manager. Hofmeister joins from Krieg DeVault, where she was senior corporate counsel. With the addition of Preston and Hofmeister, the Indianapolis office has grown to more than 50 attorneys and 14 professionals concentrating in employee benefits.

“We are excited to add Scott and Tiffany to the Indianapolis office,” said Todd Kaiser, office managing shareholder of the firm’s Indianapolis office. “Scott is an experienced employment litigator, while Tiffany has many years of experience in benefits. Together, they’ll round out an already stellar office and help us continue to provide excellent service to our clients.”

Preston, who has practiced law for more than 20 years, has extensive experience in employment litigation and counseling employers on the full range of workplace issues, including employee terminations, disability management, human resource audits, employment policies, and performance management. His national litigation practice, primarily in the automotive, higher education, and staffing and independent workforce industries, includes employer defense in single plaintiff litigation as well as class and collective actions. He represents employers in both state and federal courts, as well as before administrative agencies, such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, United States Department of Labor, and National Labor Relations Board.

Preston earned his J.D. from Creighton University School of Law and his B.S. from University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He has spoken extensively on employment litigation for business and employer organizations, including the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM), American Staffing Association (ASA), and the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC).

“Scott and Tiffany, along with our other excellent attorneys in Indianapolis, are great resources not just for our local clients, but for the firm’s national clients as well,” said Chuck Baldwin, who serves as Managing Director of the firm and is based in the Indianapolis office.

Hofmeister has over 18 years of employee benefits experience. She partners with clients to brainstorm unique benefit solutions that meet the client’s culture. She focuses on implementing and updating benefit plans and representing employers in governmental agency audits and/or correction programs. She earned her J.D., M.B.A., and B.S. from Indiana University.
