Getting ready for the GDPR: What your company needs to know about GDPR – the New Data Protection Regulation in the European Union
Wed. March 28, 2018 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm ! |
According to the RSA Data Privacy & Security Report, 62% of EU consumers would blame the company for their lost data in the event of a breach, not the hacker. As businesses are increasingly digitizing their activities and transactions they are more and more exposed to privacy issues related to their customers’ (and employees) personal data.
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a new European Union regulation that helps companies prepare for these concerns, and to protect the personal data of EU citizens, and to simplify the regulatory environment for international businesses. Going into effect on 25 May 2018, it will impact every business or organization that processes personal data from European residents either in Europe or outside of the EU.
The Consulate General of France in New York, in partnership with the European American Chamber of Commerce, La French Tech NYC, and the French Treasury in the United States, have organized an expert discussion to help American and European companies better understand the requirements of the GDPR regulation, and help them become GDPR compliant.
This event is sponsored by Datadog, Inc.
Lunch will be provided by Maison Kayser bakery
Two high-level regulators, stakeholders in companies of different sizes, as well as legal experts will provide hands-on advise and share their own experiences becoming GDPR compliant.
