The European-American Chamber of Commerce, New York (“EACCNY,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Statement (“Statement”) describes how EACCNY collects, uses and discloses information you provide to us, including through our website at eaccny.com (the “Site”). The Statement also describe the choices available to you regarding our use of your personal information, how we share your information, and how you can access and update your information.

COLLECTION OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We collect information that you provide when you use the Site. Information we collect that identifies, or is capable of identifying a person, is referred to in this Statement as “personal information.” Personal information may include personally identifiable information, such as your e-mail address, name, home or work address or telephone number and payment information. EACCNY also collects anonymous demographic information such as your ZIP code, age, gender, preferences, interests and favorites, which we will treat as personal information if combined with other information that can identify you. When registering for EACC events you give consent that your name, title and company name will be included in the attendee list for said seminar, attendee list are available to other seminar attendees.

In addition, information about your computer hardware and software is automatically collected by EACCNY when you use the Site. This information may include: your IP address, browser type, domain names, access times and referring website addresses. This information is used by EACCNY for the operation of the Site, to maintain quality of the Site, and to provide general statistics regarding use of the Site.

EACCNY will retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected, or as required by applicable laws or regulation. For users with a membership to EACCNY or that have a membership account on the Site, EACCNY will retain the information provided by you for as long as you have an account on the Site. You may modify your membership information with EACCNY by emailing us at admin@eaccny.com. Copies of information that you have updated, modified, or deleted will remain in our systems if applicable law requires us to retain it.

Please keep in mind that if you directly disclose personally identifiable information or personally sensitive data through the Site’s public message boards, this information may be collected and used by others.

Our Site may contain links to third-party websites. Any access to and use of such third party websites is not governed by this Statement, but instead is governed by the privacy statements of those third party websites, and we are not responsible for the information practices of such third party websites.

USE OF COOKIES

Our Site uses “cookies” to help you personalize your online experience. A cookie is a text file that is placed on your hard disk by a Web page server. Cookies are uniquely assigned to you, and can only be read by a web server in the domain that issued the cookie to you.

  • for other purposes we may describe to you when we collect the Personal Information.

SHARING OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

EACCNY does not sell, rent or lease its customer lists to third parties. EACCNY may, from time to time, contact you on behalf of external business partners about a particular offering that we believe may be of interest to you. In those cases, your unique personally identifiable information (e-mail, name, address, telephone number) is not transferred to the third party.

In addition, the European-American Chamber of Commerce, New York may share data with third-party service providers and partners to help us provide the Site and its functionality, perform statistical analysis, send you email or postal mail, provide customer support, process payments and/or arrange for deliveries. All such third parties are prohibited from using your personal information except to provide these services to EACCNY, and they are required to maintain the confidentiality of your information.

EACCNY may transfer information, including your personal information, to our partners to facilitate your participation in our membership databases, your receipt of services from third party providers, or event registration. This includes, but is not limited to, the Enterprise Europe Network IT Program.

EACCNY does not use or disclose sensitive personal information, such as race, religion, or political affiliations, without your explicit consent.

EACCNY keeps track of the pages our customers visit within Site in order to determine which EACCNY services are the most popular. This data is used to deliver customized content and advertising to customers whose behavior indicates that they are interested in a particular subject area.

EACCNY may transfer information, including your personal information, in connection with a merger, sale, acquisition or other change of ownership or control by or of us or any affiliated company (in each case whether in whole or in part).

EACCNY will disclose your personal information, without notice, only if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on the EACCNY or the Site; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of EACCNY; and, (c) act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of EACCNY or the public.

SECURITY OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

EACCNY uses reasonable security measures designed to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. When personal information (such as a credit card number) is transmitted to other websites, it is protected through the use of encryption, such as the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol. However, the security of information transmitted through the Internet can never be guaranteed. EACCNY is not responsible for any interception or interruption of any communications through the internet or for changes to or losses of data. Users of the Site are responsible for maintaining the security of any password, user ID or other form of authentication involved in obtaining access to password protected or secure areas of the Site. In order to protect you and your data, EACCNY may suspend your use of the Site without notice if any breach of security is suspected. Access to and use of password protected and/or secure areas of the Site are restricted to authorized users only. Unauthorized access to such areas is prohibited and may lead to criminal prosecution.

MISCELLANEOUS

CHILDREN

We do not knowingly collect or maintain personal information from any person under the age of thirteen. No parts of our Services are directed to or designed to attract anyone under the age of thirteen.

DO NOT TRACK

The Site does not support Do Not Track with respect to the Services at this time. Do Not Track (DNT) is a privacy preference that you can set in your web browser to indicate that you do not want certain information about your webpage visits collected across websites when you have not interacted with that service on the page. You have the right to receive personal information that you provided to EACCNY in a commonly used and machine-readable format, and to transmit that information to any controller without hindrance from us. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. If you provided consent to our processing of your data, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time. Please note that your withdrawal will only take effect for future processing and will not affect the lawfulness of processing before the withdrawal.
