Timothy McTaggart (partner at Pepper Hamilton LLP) and Benjamin Allensworth (Counsel at Managed Funds Association) lead a lively discussion on the upcoming and proposed changes to the financial regulations by the Obama Administration. The discussion included an update on the status of these regulations, that include the Volker Rules and the Too Big To Fail issues, the process for these rules to be finally approved and the potential effects on various sectors of the financial services industry including hedge funds and investment banking

The EACC and the New York Stock Exchange/Euronext joined forces to offer an insightful event focused on the "Fast Path" registration that the exchange has enacted. These procedures allow listed companies to access multiple exhanges (including Paris, Lisbon, Brussels, Amsterdam and London) through a unifed and streamlined process greatly enhancing companies' means to reach investors. The discussion was lead by Catherine Langlais, Nathanael Mauclair and Holly Kulka of NYSE Euronext and by Richard Martin, partner at Orrick, Herrington and Sutcliffe LLP. The moderator was Prof. Giuseppe Ammendola, PhD of New York University.

The EACC hosted a roundtable held by Glenn Carle, a former senior official of the Central Intelligence Agency. An expert on terrorism and the effects on business, Glenn presented a series of "learnings" that business can use to assess risks and to identify options in light of these. Glenn also provided insights on the response to the terroristic threat by the United States and European countries and his assessment of the effectiveness of these measures.
