The Latest Developments on European and Other Non-U.S. Banks Investing in Foreign Funds under the Volcker Rule - What you need to know!

Wed. June 24, 2015
08:00 am - 10:00 am

!

The Volcker Rule remains as one of the most important, and controversial, aspects of the Dodd-Frank Act.  The extraterritorial effect of the Volcker Rule has been hotly debated in Congress and through the regulatory process.

Our expert panelists will discuss the impact of the Volcker Rule on the ability of European and other foreign banks (with U.S. banking operations), to invest in new foreign funds as well as how to handle existing investments in such funds.  Significant recent developments, including the U.S. regulators’ release of Frequently Asked Question No. 13 (“FAQ 13”) on February 27, 2015, have added to the volatility regarding the implementation of the Volcker Rule.

The panelists will provide:
• Foreign Banking Organizations (FBOs) with the latest updates and information on Volcker Rule.
• Updates and information on Volcker Rule compliance issues, including insights from industry and the Regulators.

and discuss:
• CEO certification.
• Sections 23A and 23B (inter-affiliate transactions restrictions) issues.
• Potential new, additional Frequently Asked Questions from the Regulators.
• The impact of Volcker Rule on foreign banks investment activity in their home country.
